Summary:The present clinical case study consists of the nursing care process in a preschool patient with acute bronchiolitis, who attends the emergency area of the General Hospital IESS Babahoyo, due to presenting a clinical picture of 72 hours of evolution characterized by cough, hyaline rhinorrhea and respiratory distress, without thermal rise; Acute bronchiolitis is that infectious process in which there is an inflammatory bronchial reaction more frequently in children under 2 years of age, this disease is almost always produced by the respiratory syncytial virus and occurs more frequently during the winter months. The application of the nursing care process allows us to provide the necessary nursing care to the patient for which cephalocaudal evaluation is performed, by Marjory Gordon functional patterns and laboratory tests: complete blood count, blood chemistry, PCR electrolytes; Imaging examinations: AP chest X-ray, he is admitted to pediatric hospitalization, nursing care is provided, peripheral intravenous cannulation is performed, administration of medications according to medical prescription, control and registration of vital signs, oxygen therapy by nasal cannula and other interventions with the aim of recovering the patient's health.
