| Gaia: | This clinical case is made with data from a 25-year-old female patient who goes to consultation with the department of gastroenterology presenting clinical picture of diarrhoea and constipation of several weeks of evolution, has a history of smoking from the age of 18, consumes alcohol once every fortnight and denies drug use, has been receiving psychiatric treatment for two years from anxiety crises plus depression. You have an altered coprological exam so you need to have an endoscopy, which shows no gastrointestinal disturbances. Through the information collected more anamnesis is diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome, and should be valued by the department of nutrition. The goal of this clinical case is to provide a nutritional plan to improve the patient's clinical picture. The development of the case under study and through the nutritional care process it was determined that the nutritional management to follow is a low diet in FODMAPs. Finally, through the nutritional monitoring carried out it was possible to show the improvement of symptomatology thanks to dietary management. |
