Özet:It is not risky to say that everyone, at some point or another in life, goes through a depressive period. Of course, not all are desperate cases that induce suicide, but there is no one who escapes the general rule that everyone, at some time, has experienced a greater or lesser degree of depressive attack. It is very unfortunate that many people suffer trauma and deterioration of mental health because loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or lack of self-esteem, sleep disorder or appetite, deprivation of liberty refers to the criminal ordinance that is assigned to the person who has committed a criminal action, this case study is carried out with the objective of analyzing how depression influences the mental health of a person deprived of liberty. In order to find the affectations in the emotional area, the inmates and health professionals, therapists and psychologists of the Babahoyo rehabilitation center were surveyed, serving as great support to achieve adequate rehabilitation. Because people deprived of liberty need constant support from professionals, family and friends to reintegrate them into society.
