Depresión y su incidencia en el bajo rendimiento académico de una estudiante de 18 años del colegio 23 de Junio en el cantón Baba

Depression is a mental illness that has an impact on the well-being of people, in this case study it is intended to determine how the incidence of depression affects the poor performance of an 18-year-old student from the June 23 school in the Baba canton, since each emotion is inherent to the human being, but when there is a high frequency or a high severity, these discomforts affect not only psychological but also behavioral, for example, a patient with a severe episode of depression, reflects a behavioral response of isolating oneself and not wanting to carry out any activity, many times the lack of awareness about the disease, causes caregivers to make mistakes when establishing punishment due to the behavior shown without considering that this is caused by a disease, that is, that the behavior is not a defiant attitude towards authority and norms, if it is not a symptom, in which the patient is indirectly asking for help, but these are not the only indicators of the disease, it is common that family members do not know how to identify if any member is suffering from depression, it is vital to take into account the following: poor academic performance, school failure, maladaptive behaviors such as isolate themselves, make comments regarding the negative perspective of oneself, the world and others, comments regarding the dead, that is, throughout the family interaction many indicators will appear that the family member has or suffers from depression, depression is conspicuous when you want to look at it
