Итог:Most patients with acute bronchitis recover after surgery in either days or weeks. A viral infection, such as a cold or the flu, often causes acute bronchitis. Sometimes acute bronchitis can be caused by a bacterial infection. Chronic bronchitis is a persistent cough that lasts for several months. In case of chronic bronchitis, the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract is constantly inflamed. This makes the mucous membrane edematous and makes it produce more mucus and which will make breathing difficult. Chronic bronchitis is often part of the disease. A condition called chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The most common symptom of bronchitis is the production of mucus. Other symptoms include wheezing, dyspnea, chest pain, fever. To diagnose bronchitis, your doctor will do a physical exam and ask about your medical history and symptoms. The doctor may also order blood tests to check for signs of infection or a chest x-ray to see if the lungs and bronchi are normal. The results indicate normality and rule out pneumonia.
