The main objective of this project was to develop a plan for occupational safety and risk assessment in the Ecuador Amazónico educational unit, in order to reduce occupational risks, allowing an optimum performance in the activities carried out within the electromechanical workshops. For the completion of this final report we worked with a sample of 95 students, whose results were the following according to the level of knowledge of occupational safety standards prevailed 37.89% (36), which reflected a moderate knowledge, in regarding the level of knowledge of the use of pictograms, it was moderated by 33.68% (32). According to the knowledge about the types of occupational risk, the index with the highest percentage was 35.79% (34) who mentioned that they have spoken to them most of the times. Regarding the use of personal protective equipment, 30.53% (29) answered that, if they use it most of the time. Regarding the level of response to some risk situation, 47.37% (45) reached an average response level. 47.37% (45) are totally in agreement with the implementation of protective and occupational safety equipment, such as the use of glasses, fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and the respective signage. As well as, 90.53% (86) fully agree to apply a safety standards model. Finally, the measurement of the level of response to the training in occupational safety was 77.89% (74), which favored improvement of the academic performance of the students
