Sumario:The study analyzes the inventory management of the Santa Rita de Babahoyo Urban Transport Cooperative during 2023, identifying deficiencies that affect the company's operation and financial sustainability. It is observed that the lack of a structured system for the control of essential spare parts and materials generates unnecessary costs, shortages of supplies and a reduction in the quality of service. The cooperative faces difficulties in managing its inventory due to the absence of efficient control and the lack of follow-up in the acquisition and use of spare parts. This causes shortages, unnecessary accumulation of supplies and high operating costs, affecting the quality of service and user satisfaction. A mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative) was used, with the application of tools such as ABC analysis, which classified spare parts according to their relevance. Lack of staff training, poor documentation and absence of clear control policies. The study reveals that the lack of adequate control in inventories generates economic losses and affects the cooperative's operation. Structural improvements are required in the management of inputs, the implementation of technological tools and staff training to ensure an efficient and sustainable service..
