Summary:In Ecuador, higher education institutions in recent months reflect a decrease in the quality of teaching and learning due to the SARS-CoV2 pandemic; However, these institutions, in their attempt to limit the gap caused by this virus, mostly began to develop communication strategies. It is here where the present study was born, which aimed to analyze the incidence of new communicational strategies and their application in third-level education in times of pandemic at the Technical University of Babahoyo during the period May - August 2020; where the result of the surveys carried out indicated that students and teachers wanted to improve or implement new communication tools within the university. According to the aforementioned data, it is concluded that the crisis could be an opportunity to reform the resource allocation systems for education to make them more efficient and equitable, likewise, the limitations that have been seen in education encourage the best way to use technology for educational purposes in the different modes of education.
