Jackfruit fruits are very versatile and can be cooked or eaten fresh. The fresh, tender leaves as well as the male flowers can be cooked as vegetables. The leaves and bark of the fruit are used to feed livestock. All parts of the plant exude sticky white latex which is used to produce gum or mixed with vinegar produces a poultice for the treatment of wounds and snake bites.
