Shrnutí:Congenital pneumonia caused by chorioamnionitis is a pathological state that is manifested by respiratory distress, it occurs when the layers of the placenta, the chorion and the amnion suffer a rupture where the fetus is vulnerable to all the bacteria found in the vagina and genital cervix , causing serious damage to the product, ranging from malformations, pneumonia, meningitis among other pathologies and even death, being one of the main causes of neonatal morbidity and mortality both nationally and worldwide. This case study is based on applying the nursing care process (PAE) in a mild preterm patient, who was diagnosed with congenital pneumonia due to chorioamnionitis, with it we will maintain a systematized order of interventions where goals or objectives will be implemented. that will be fulfilled through the nursing phases that are assessment, diagnosis, planning, execution and evaluation. Applying the functional patterns of Marjorie Gordon and based on the theory of Virginia Herdenson, which will allow us to make decisions based on dependent and independent scientific criteria, in order to achieve the respective care for the patient for his speedy recovery, taking into account how necessary the interpersonal relationships with the patient's caregiver.
