Opis
Streszczenie:SUMMARY Tollo Intag is a subtropical zone located in the Cotacachi Canton province of Imbabura, it has an average temperature of 22ºC, with average annual precipitation of 1000mm, located at an altitude of 1150 meters above sea level, it is the equidistant sector of the Intag area, located 78km from the cities of Otavalo and Cotacachi. It is a highly agricultural area dedicated to the production of short cycle crops, with varieties in beans and hard corn. In this zone of study of bean cultivation, 4 varieties are handled, being the Red Frejol Variety and Black Frejol the most cultivated by the adaptation to the climatological conditions of the sector, they are also more commercial and with better prices than the other varieties, in these crops it has been determined that there are recurrent pests that cause great economic losses to the producers, being the main problem in this sector, the worm harvester (Agrotis ipsilon) that attacks at night in its first days to the crop to the bean cutting or cutting the plant caused in some cases the need to carry out the reseeding, the second plague that affects is the whitefly that acts defoliating its leaves generating important damages in terms of its production as it causes the deterioration of the plant. To ensure the optimum development of the crop it is necessary to apply an integrated pest management, reducing in its entirety the attack to the bean crop from its birth to harvest and threshing. The cultivation of beans is the first source of income generation in this sector, reaching outputs of 50 to 200 qq per farmer, it is so important that it has allowed families to carry out this crop in a dependent manner considering that the income generated from the sale is distributed to survive for a year until the next planting.
