Shrnutí:In the evolutionary process, during the stage of the gestation period both the mother and the (fetus) can be exposed to a series of microorganisms that cause infections and as a consequence increase the probabilities of morbidity and mortality in the neonate, despite the advances In medicine and technology they allow timely diagnosis and treatment, neonatal sepsis continues to be one of the most deadly in this period. Infections occur in the first 72 hours after birth and in other cases in the first week of life, as a consequence of exposure to a hazardous environment. Neonatal sepsis is considered a clinical syndrome, because there are a set of symptoms and signs such as decreased spontaneous activity, apnea, bradycardia, cyanosis, hypo or hyperthermia, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal distention, restlessness, seizures, among others that They are caused by an invasive infection predominantly bacterial, viral, fungal, and other germs during the first four weeks of life. The diagnosis is established by clinical methods and is confirmed by hematological results and microbiological cultures.
