Résumé:VII. SUMMARY The phytosanitary problems are the leading cause, of low yields and poor quality of the fruits that the farmers from the community of Chilcapamba, in Cotacachi Canton. This has caused an increase in production costs and there is low income, due to the lack of knowledge about the identification of pests and diseases, this provoke that producers make bad rotations in the phytosanitary control applications. With the aim of informing to the interested farmers in the field of cultivation of strawberry, a collection of information about the main phytosanitary problems that attack these crops has been made; this information was directly made from the main source, in the same area and with affected farmers, through surveys, interviews and field monitoring in oreder to identify the main pests and diseases affecting the crop. It was found that the most common pests and difficult to control ARE the decay of the neck. The work done in this area, allowed to socialize and identify existing phytosanitary issues. Allowing to strawberry growers opt for the best strategies being, cultural, physical, biological or chemical weapons, as and when appropriate and preventive treatments, that is to say, doing an adequate Integrated Management of Pests and Diseases without making bad investments or to avoid unnecessary expenses that do not increase production costs, without leave to one side the care of the environment and protecting the soil resource, as well as the health of consumers.
