Čoahkkáigeassu:This clinical case study focuses on the physical therapy intervention of a 2-year-old pediatrician diagnosed with spina bifida who attends the physical therapy area of the Babahoyo General Hospital (IESS). The main objective of the treatment was to improve her motor and functional development, strengthen the muscles to prevent possible secondary complications and increase her independence. The physical therapy intervention lasted four weeks with 20 individualized sessions; each session was adapted to the needs of the girl, including mobility exercises, strengthening, coordination, balance, postural control and therapeutic activities based on play, this showed positive progress both in postural control and stability as well as in functional mobility and range of motion. Despite this, challenges persist such as muscle weakness in the lower extremities and the need for complementary long-term interventions.
