Résumé:This document deals with soil improvements for the establishment of melon cultivation (Cucumis melo L.) in Ecuador. The stated objectives were to detail the importance of organic amendments in crops and to establish the benefits that organic amendments bring to melon cultivation, where it was determined that the effects of applying organic amendments to the soil help improve its physical properties. In addition to carrying out a better management of some waste, whether organic or inorganic, sometimes generating economic improvements; It is important to apply organic amendments to crops, especially vegetables, so that plantations obtain a better response in terms of plant development, plant height, fruit set, fruit weight and yield, and melon cultivation requires of the essential macronutrients for its development, such as Nitrogen 75 kg/ha, 7 k/ha of phosphorus, 64 kg/ha of potassium, 62 kg/ha of calcium 10 kg/ha of Magnesium, being of vital importance to analyze the amendment organic that contributes with the nutritional contents that the crop requires.
