Summary:A medical illness that denotes highly significant physical changes such as Alopecia in an adolescent can attract consequences that put their mental health at risk, since it is in the stage of seeking identity and acceptance of the social environment in which it is involved For this reason it is considered a vulnerable population. In this research work the study of a case of a 13-year-old student is carried out, which presented changes that affected not only his school performance, but also his social and emotional life. During the study of the symptomatology that the patient showed, through the use of observation and medical history, it was possible to verify under the parameters indicated by the DSM V that the patient's clinical diagnosis was major depression due to medical illness (Alopecia), This allowed to carry out the corresponding therapeutic scheme to reduce the signs and symptoms that it manifested
