| Sumari: | SUMMARY Banana exports represent 2% of the general GDP and approximately 35% of the agricultural GDP. They generate work for more than one million Ecuadorian families. This benefited more than 2.5 million people (approximately 6% of Ecuador's total population) in nine provinces that depend heavily on the banana industry. At present there are different sowing systems that can be applied, among which we have square shapes, rectangle shapes and a hexagon or equilateral triangle shape. The recommended system is in the form of an equilateral triangle (three bolillo), because with this way of sowing it is possible to have a uniform distribution. the density chosen for the plantation is appropriate, to obtain in this way, a high cluster / year ratio and a longer plant life. When this does not happen, the development or cycle of the plant is mainly affected. A high density means that the cluster / year ratio becomes progressively lower and the useful life becomes shorter; to increase the costs per hectare, by having greater use of fertilizers, nematicides and fruit protection work; to that with the age of the plantation lose the production of vigorous children, the system of sowing.
