Abordaje fisioterapéutico en la artrosis de rodilla en paciente que acuden al área de rehabilitación física del Hospital General Martin Icaza, Babahoyo, noviembre 2023-abril 2024.

Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition that affects a significant portion of the population, especially as they age. In this context, the objective of the research was to determine a physiotherapeutic approach in knee osteoarthritis in patients between 55 and 75 years old in the Physical Rehabilitation area of the Martín Icaza General Hospital of the Babahoyo Canton, between November 2023 and April 2024. It was treated of a quantitative, cross-sectional, exploratory and descriptive study that included 60 patients with a diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis, of which 25 were selected as a sample, under inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results revealed that factors such as age, previous traumatic knee injuries, genetic predisposition and intense or repetitive physical activity are significantly associated with the development and severity of the disease in this population. Based on these findings, the implementation of prevention and early management programs is suggested, as well as the creation of multidisciplinary interventions to effectively address knee osteoarthritis. These measures could improve the quality of life and reduce the disability associated with this degenerative condition that affects a significant part of the population, particularly in the aging stage.
