Summary:Allergic rhinitis is one of the main pathologies that affect children during childhood, whose distribution is global and is considered a public health problem due to the economic and social impact generated by the individual, family and environment. Objective: To determine the allergens influencing the development of allergic rhinitis in children under 5 years of the Estero de Damas precinct of the Quinsaloma Canton. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out for which 85 individuals who referred to be the caregivers of children diagnosed with allergic rhinitis were surveyed. Results: 55.29% of respondents have a history of allergic disease, in the same way 83.53% of individuals have not received training about their child's disease, which is evidenced by maintaining negative habits such as intra-household smoking (61.18%), permanence of pets inside the home (63.53%), application of cleaning products without taking precautionary measures with their children (55, 29%), and medical controls limited to the care of emergency (43.53%). Conclusions: The majority of caregivers do not know about the illness of their children, as well as the preventive measures that they can apply for the management and control of their disease, so it is necessary to evaluate the more general characteristics of this problem in order to present a strategic solution of respiratory physiotherapy.
