| Zusammenfassung: | The current research aims to determine the influence of self-esteem on the psychological well-being of older adults in the Parochial Decentralized Autonomous Government of Ricaurte. Self-esteem is the set of ideas, thoughts, evaluations, feelings and behavioral tendencies that we have about ourselves. The psychological well-being of the elderly is related to multiple external elements, these can be the family relationship and interaction with their environment, as well as the changes to which they are socially at risk, which can influence their quality of life. The research does not consist of a sample because the entire elderly population of the Decentralized Autonomous Government belonging to the Ricaurte parish of the Catarama canton was chosen, a non-probabilistic sampling was carried out, which consisted of taking the entire representative population, likewise the mixed type of research, with a non-experimental research design, and a descriptive approach. Data were selected through standardized questionnaires such as the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale validated by Morris Rosenberg 1965 and the Well-being Scale, adapted by van Dierendonck 1989. The results obtained from the statistical analyzes through the Microsoft Excel program were achieved a significant positive correlation in self-esteem in older adults. |
