For this purpose, this research has a quantitative approach through a non-experimental transactional study with correlational scope, with a sample of 155 high school students. On the other hand, the academic procrastination scale instrument (EPA) of Dr. Edmundo Arévalo Luna et al. was applied to evaluate procrastinating behavior. Barraza's systemic cognitive inventory (SISCO SV-21) was also used to measure students' academic stress. By means of the results obtained through Spearman's Rho statistic to relate the two variables of the research, therefore, a closely significant relationship was found with a value greater than 0.005 (Rho 0.995), that is, the more procrastination increases academic stress in students. For now, the levels of the two variables are low.

For now, the levels of the two variables are low.La procrastinación académica es un tipo específico de procrastinación que ocurre cuando los estudiantes posponen o retrasan tareas relacionadas con sus estudios, como trabajos, proyectos, exámenes o lecturas. Por ende, este estudio busca determinar la relación entre procrastinación y estrés académico en los estudiantes de bachillerato Unidad Educativa Jaime Roldós Aguilera. Para aquello, esta investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo mediante un estudio no experimental transaccional con alcance correlacional, con una muestra de 155 alumnos de bachillerato. Por otra parte, se aplicó el instrumento de la escala de procrastinación académica (EPA) del Dr. Edmundo Arévalo Luna y Cols, para evaluar la conducta procrastinadora. También se utilizó el inventario sistémico cognoscitivista (SISCO SV-21) de Barraza para medir el estrés académico de los estudiantes. Mediante los resultados obtenidos a través del estadístico Rho de Spearman para relacional las dos variables de la investigación, por lo tanto, se encontró una relación estrechamente significativa con un valor mayor a 0.005 (Rho 0.995), es decir, entre más procrastinación aumenta el estrés académico en los estudiantes.
