description SUMMARY The research was carried out on the grounds of the "San Pablo" Farm, belonging to the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Technical University of Babahoyo, located at km 7.5 of the Babahoyo - Montalvo road, Los Ríos Province, in lettuce varieties 'Klausia' and 'Dominator' in the presence of organic biofertilizers Multimix, Seaweed Extract and HumiComboPK, as a complement to a nutritional program, in order to: a) Determine the variety of better agronomic behavior and productive capacity of buds (heads); B) Identify the appropriate dose of organic biofertilizers to maximize the yield of buds per hectare; And, c) Economically analyze the yield of buds according to the cost of production of the treatments. The sub-treatments were constituted by: Multimix in doses of 10; 15 and 20 kg/ha; Seaweed Extract at dose 1.0; 1.5 and 2.0 l/ha; HumiComboPK in doses of 1; 2 and 3 kg/ha. In addition, a control treatment without organic biofertilizer was included, giving a total of ten sub-treatments. The experimental design "Split plots" was used in three replicates. The main plots corresponded to the varieties (treatments) and as experimental subplots were organic biofertilizers (sub-treatments). The experimental subplot was constituted by 4 rows of 6 m of length separated to 0.50 m, giving an area of 12 m2; While the useful area was determined by the two central rows, leaving an area of 6.0 m2. The variables were evaluated; Height of plants, length and diameter of heads; Head weight; Number of plants at harvest; Days to harvest and head yield. The comparison of varieties was done with the tests Minimum Significant Difference; And the Tukey test at 95% probability for comparisons of means of organic biofertilizers and interactions varieties x organic biofertilizers. The analysis and statistical interpretation of the experimental results was concluded, it was concluded: 1. The 'Klausia' variety achieved the highest head yield 10,038 t/ ha, surpassing the 'Dominator' by 6.87%; Differing statistically from each other. 2. The diameter, length and head weight in lettuce was higher when the biofertilizer HumiComboPK was applied in doses of 3l / ha. The weight of the head surpassed in 42.95% the witness lacking biofertilizer. 3. The 'Klausia' variety in the presence of the biofertilizer HumiCombo in doses of 3 and 2 l/ha, obtained the highest head yields 12,177 and 12,110 t/ha, as well as the highest economic profits of $ 2150.44 and $ 2147.0 per hectare, respectively. 4. The organic biofertilizer HumiComboPK exceeded on average 11.76% to the biofertilizer Seaweed Extract and the latter to Multimix in 18.31%. 5. Witness treatment lacking organic biofertilizer produced 5,597 t/ha. It is recommended: 1. The use of the 'Klausia' lettuce variety, due to its good agronomic behavior and productive capacity of heads (buds). 2. Use the organic biofertilizer HumiComboPK in doses of 3 l / ha, to achieve high yields of heads (heads) and economic profits per hectare, as a complement to a balanced nutritional program. 3. Continue the research evaluating other organic biofertilizers and in different locations.
