| Crynodeb: | The use of moringa (Moringa Oleifera) as food is considered a complete forage, rich in proteins, minerals, and vitamins, which are used in diets, including broilers, ruminants and pigs due to their good palatability. The present investigation was carried out with the objective of analyzing the use of moringa (Moringa Oleifera) for the feeding of broilers. The qualitative and exploratory method was used in databases of indexed journals, information obtained from dspace of the universities, scientific articles and books. Currently, there are 3,067 chicken farms in the country. The highest percentage of farms and animals are found in the Sierra and Costa regions, which have 79% of the registered farms and 95% of the chicken population. Moringa contains 25.1% crude protein on a dry basis with 47% of the total protein, and the in vitro digestibility of the dry matter is 79%. The inclusion of 20% moringa in the diet of chickens in the weight range of 4 to 5.5 kg does not significantly affect behavioral traits. |
