| Sumari: | This research is based on conducting a study and later an analysis of how the pandemic caused by COVID-19 affected the informal trade economy in the city of Babahoyo. Informal trade can be defined as a form of employment exercised by people, who cannot find a secure job or cannot cover the needs of the household with their current salary. In the Babahoyo canton, informal trade has proliferated due to the unemployment of the inhabitants, this is caused by slow economic growth, lack of preparation of the inhabitants; Sometimes there are those who have a professional title but do not have the job opportunities and the migration of people from the countryside to the city, among others. Informal trade has been taken as an employment alternative and a way to generate economic income that meets the needs of the population. |
