Tourism has become a development strategy for the Montalvo canton and the entire Los Ríos province which, due to its characteristics, attract the attention of visitors from the surrounding and foreign sectors, and the analysis of the case in the canton is of interest for this investigation. Montalvo. The aim is to determine the impact that tourism generates in the population of this canton, through an empirical study that shows the changes within the scope of sustainable development. According to the results obtained, it was determined that the inhabitants of Montalvo tourism has generated an impact in the economic, social, environmental, social and cultural aspects
