| Tóm tắt: | SUMMARY The research was carried out in the "Cucher" community, located in the cantón Montúfar, Carchi province, at 2800 msnm, the study was aimed at determining the pesticides used for pest control in bean culture (Vicia Faba L.). The information was taken through interviews with producers and observation in the cultivated areas of the community. In the area are grown the varieties semigreen preferably and machetona. The chemical control used to prevent and control pests, which are primarily: miner, (Liriomyza), Trips (Thrips tabaci), tender (Agrotis ípsilon), Seed sweeper (Delia platura), Chocolate (Botritis fabea) and Root rot ( Fusarium); Field observation identified the aforementioned pests and frequently used pesticides, these being: Abamectin, Fipronil, Chlorpyrifos, Chlorpyrifos Cipermethrin, Methysula, Lambdachalotrina Thiamethoxan, Imidacloprid Benfuracarb Cipermethrin Dimetoate; fungicides such as Benomil and Thiofanate methyl, Proximidone, are also used. The most commonly applied product is Abamethine, marketed as newmectin, for its high percentage of effectiveness at all insect stages. The application of pesticides is performed with nebulizing pumps on the foliage, according to the phase of the crop and the pest to be controlled. Pest monitoring is not performed, nor is the estimation of the degree of affectation; the frequency of application varies with the climate or according to the cycle of development of the crop, reaching to apply in periods of 12 to 15 days, for the harvest the last application is made 10 days before the harvest.
