Summary:In the present investigative work, the influence of digital communication media on the cultural identity of adolescents in the Mi País sector of Quevedo canton was evaluated. To do this, a diagnosis was made on the perception of adolescents; the identification of the current conditions of the interaction of adolescents and the digital media; and the development of a digital campaign that promotes the preservation of the cultural identity of adolescents. The study included the compilation of documentary information in the databases: Google Scholar, Communication and Mass Media Complete (EBSCO), PsycINFO, Scielo and Redalyc, through the use of exclusion and inclusion criteria; In addition, a survey was carried out aimed at adolescents in the “My Country” sector, applied to 30 adolescents with an age range of 10-15 years, structured by multiple-choice questions. The survey data were tabulated and treated using descriptive statistics. As a result of the research, it was determined that adolescents use digital communication media in large numbers, recognizing that they have different options to which they access such as: blogs, web pages and social networks, reaching worrying conclusions such as the large number of time they spend on these sites, relegating to the background and even eliminating different activities such as sports from their lives. Regarding cultural identity, it was observed that digital communication media have made a notable difference in the change in the ethical and moral values of adolescents, and in their traditions; In addition, there is evidence of a loss of respect and empathy, for which the application of a digital communication campaign that involves the different actors in the environment of the My country sector is proposed.
