| Tóm tắt: | Preeclampsia is the leading cause of maternal death in developing countries and its etiology is multifactorial. Objective: Determine maternal risk factors and their relationship with the frequency of preeclampsia at the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Hospital in Quevedo between August 2022 and September 2023. Methodology: Observational, quantitative, descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional with a sample of 180 pregnant women and the clinical records were reviewed. Results: Among the sociodemographic factors, age group from 25 to 29 years (42.7%), secondary educational level (45.5%), rural origin (51.1%), housewife (46.2%); gynecological-obstetric factors, primiparity (40.0%) and 1 to 3 prenatal controls (31.1%); and personal factors, overweight (48.9%); Regarding the type of preeclampsia, severe preeclampsia predominated (50.0%). Conclusion: Maternal risk factors are related to the development of preeclampsia. |
