Summary:The present clinical case is about a 45-year-old male patient, who after presenting various episodes of nausea, itching, headaches and general malaise, attended a consultation and based on the blood studies carried out for his values elevated creatinine and urea is diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease. The anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary nutritional evaluation is carried out, where a weight of 46 kg is presented, with a height of 165 cm and a body mass index of 17 Kg/m2. Within the biochemical parameters, it presents alterations in the indicators of urea and creatinine. The objective of this case study is to improve the nutritional status of patients with chronic kidney disease. A 2,100-kcal, low-sodium, high-calorie, low-protein diet, low in phosphorus and potassium, divided into 4 meal times, is prescribed. In conclusion, the nutritional status of the patient was improved, according to the parameters evaluated there is a weight gain of 3 kg in one month, decreased urea, creatinine and electrolyte values, hemoglobin and hematocrit within normal parameters, improved physical and clinical signs. notoriously and in the dietary aspect good adherence to dietary treatment.
