Izvleček:This case study was carried out through an analysis of the media that violated Article 23 of the Organic Law of Communication. Scientific theoretical rigor was established through theoretical support, in addition to this the relevant article of the Organic Law of Communication of Ecuador was considered, and it was also argued from the legal point of view. Also, the objective by which the investigation was carried out was considered the different techniques and instruments of data collection that would be used in order to obtain reliable information that validate these theories and objectives. This work shows that journalism must be exercised impartially, applying art. 23 of the Communication Law, that is, to correct the information that was biased and caused damage to third parties. Those who may have this document in hand may know a little more about these controversial cases that generated opinions of jurists, media owners and politicians; to the point of proposing to eliminate this Law also called Gag law.
