الملخص:The World Health Organization estimates that more than half of the world's population will have some type of refractive problem due to prolonged use of technological devices. Refractive problems are vision problems that prevent light from focusing correctly on the retina, causing distortion or blurring at near and far distances. Myopic astigmatism is one of the conditions that is part of this group. The present clinical case is about a 20-year-old female patient who presents myopic astigmatism, a combination of (Astigmatism-Myopia), the patient indicated that she has experienced the following symptoms: Blurred vision, Double and distorted vision, Headache, Fatigue . , visual fatigue and Problem driving at night. According to the clinical picture, the refractive status of the eyeball is evaluated and an uncorrected binocular visual acuity of 20/70 is found. The optometric tests applied are: distance and near visual acuity with and without correction, pupillary reflexes; near point of convergence; Ocular motility; subjective-objective refraction among others necessary for confirmation of the diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, several corrective treatment options are suggested, according to the patient's needs and choice. The treatment to be used was conventional single field of vision lenses with blue block protection and a UV filter graduated with the prescription obtained. The patient's response was favorable, he achieved maximum visual acuity of 20/20. As a recommendation, the importance of attending visual controls was also suggested, because in this way the process can be monitored and intervention if necessary.
