Description
Summary:This document deals with the phenotypic characteristics of cocoa, influenced by the application of seaweed. If there is no adequate nutrition program, especially with the application of products based on seaweed, it is very likely that low yields will be obtained in the culture in terms of its different phenotypic characteristics. The conclusions presented based on the analysis of the revised information determined: that in Ecuador, cocoa is considered one of the best export products, which makes the gold seed a very important crop for generating economic returns; the application of seaweed in cocoa plantations improves the phenotypic characteristics of the crop; increase root development and seedling survival, prevent the incidence of pests and diseases, increasing productivity over time. The constant application of marine algae in the cultivation, allows to establish organic cocoa plantations, managing to produce raw material coveted worldwide.
