总结:The present study on literacy and its impact on the integral academic performance of children in initial education makes reference in that teaching to read and write produces great satisfactions and for this it is necessary to apply pedagogical-practical knowledge, review the acquired knowledge, skills personal and experience in this task. The research work arises as an attempt to answer the multiple questions that are raised to the teacher of initial education when he observes that children present errors and difficulties in basic skills when learning to read and write. It is essential to begin to teach these skills formally from an early age, despite this difficulty many manage to acquire these lessons successfully but some students show difficulties despite a normal intellectual endowment and not present other limitations that could justify those difficulties. It is concluded that In the preschool age, the bases of socialization and personality construction are acquired, so it is suggested to introduce children to the world of words through reading stories aloud to promote the development of oral and written language
