Sumario:Ochroma pyramidale known as "balsa", is a timber species that grows wild in the Amazon rainforest and constitutes one of the main economic resources of Ecuador, where it is cultivated on a large scale. The wood (log) is used for the construction of houses and boats, manufacture of numerous household utensils and handicrafts, among others.The objective of this research is to know the processes that are carried out in the agronomic management of the raft crop (Ochroma pyramidale), in order to guarantee its success in the total crop cycle, as well as the importance that the raft has. in Ecuador.The conclusions of this research are projected to use with responsibility each and every one of the processes carried out in the raft cultivation cycle, since by ensuring correct management, Ecuador will continue to be a pioneer in the production and export of this product.
