La madera (leño) se utiliza para la construcción de viviendas y embarcaciones, fabricación de numerosos utensilios de uso doméstico y artesanías, entre otros.La presente investigación, tiene como objetivo conocer los procesos que se llevan a cabo en el manejo agronómico del cultivo de balsa (Ochroma pyramidale), para asì garantizar su éxito en el ciclo total del cultivo, asì mismo se destacarà la importancia que la balsa tiene en el Ecuador.
