Resumo:Introduction. - Respiratory system diseases are a public health problem worldwide due to the high mortality and morbidity rate, absorbing a large amount of resources destined for health. Although it is not a new problem, it has begun to stand out to the extent that other infectious diseases have been controlled and prevented. Objective.- The main objective is to explain how high respiratory infections are related to the development of acute bronchitis in patients who are treated in the subcenter May 24 of the Maritza precinct of the Babahoyo canton. Methodology.- The methods used are: Inductive method. Non-experimental, This research is mixed (qualitative-quantitative) since we study a sample in a reduced way obtaining data through direct surveys that are made to the patients obtaining an approach that thanks to this we can collect valuable information for our research. Results.- It was found that of 85 people attended at the health center on May 24 of the Maritza site, 71% were affected with acute bronchitis. That the basic knowledge of mothers before the viruses that cause respiratory problems is low, being that 78% believe that this factor does not produce respiratory diseases Recommendations.- Disseminate the knowledge exposed in this research project to serve as support in future research to deepen this topic. To demonstrate to the health entities of this sector about the finding of this disease present in the minors of this sector.
