Sumari:One in four children lives in emergency situations, which threaten their lives and their future; iron deficiency anemia is one of the nutritional problems in the country due to early weaning, poverty and lack of food, among other factors. The objective of this research is to determine the dietary intake and nutritional status of children from 1 to 3 years old of the CDI Pequeños Brillantes Vinces - Los Ríos October 2018-April 2019. The methodology used was through the anthropometric method by taking the weight, height and determination of the BMI (Body Mass Index), for its interpretation we use the tables and reference patterns of the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador; To determine the dietary intake we use the 24-hour reminder method for 3 days. It was obtained as a result that 80% of the population of the Infant Development Center "Pequeños Brillantes" was in a normal nutritional state We can conclude that a relationship was found between food intake and nutritional status; since there is a group that presents wasting and another overweight, and the group that is in normality at the same time has a low weight risk when it is at the median limit.
