The results showed that 68% of primiparous mothers have postpartum depression, none of whom breastfeed exclusively and only 10% of mothers feed their baby on demand. Concluding that PPD has a negative influence on breastfeeding of primiparous women at the Roberto Astudillo health center. |

Siendo el objetivo primordial analizar la influencia de la depresión postparto en la lactancia materna en mujeres primíparas atendidas en el centro de salud Roberto Astudillo, se llevó a cabo mediante un estudio de diseño metodológico analítico, de modalidad cuantitativa, y un tipo de investigación transversal, la población de estudio estuvo constituida por 180 mujeres primíparas y se utilizó la técnica de revisión de historias clínicas, recolección de datos a través de la escala de Edimburgo que ayudó a identificar las madres con DPP y encuesta para conocer la influencia de la DPP sobre la lactancia materna. Como resultados se obtuvo que el 68% de las madres primíparas tienen depresión postparto de las cuales ninguna le da lactancia materna exclusiva y solo el 10% de las madres alimenta a su bebé a libre demanda.
