| Résumé: | The Burns constitute one of the most significant health problems throughout the world, in Cuba they are the fourth cause of death caused by accidents, according to the data provided by Argentine Association Burns, between the years 2009 - 2012 were treated 1,485 patients which represents 29.1% with a mortality rate of 9.7%. The present case is a 45-year-old female patient with second-degree burns with a body surface area of 36% and a pathological history: Hypertension, Surgical Background: Cholecystectomy more than 2 years ago. The treatment to follow is the provision of a Hypercaloric-Hyperproteic Diet. A Total Energy Expenditure of 2566 Kcal / day was estimated, with distribution of Macronutrients (CHOS 352 g, Prot 125 g, and Greases 72.7 g) and Micronutrients (Na 1600 mg, K 1500 mg, Zn 8 mg, Vit C 75 mg). The proposed objectives: To intervene in the treatment of therapeutic diet according to the nutritional needs of the patient, to assess the nutritional status through anthropometric, biochemical and dietary methods, to improve the diet through the nutritional planning, to control the nutritional intervention through, monitoring and monitoring Concluding patient achieved a sufficient energy - protein intake, a BMI of 21.5 kg / m2, recovering the lost weight and finally a Albumin of 3.5 mg / dl which determines that the patient finished the treatment with an adequate nutritional status. |
