Agregar Etiqueta | Sumario: | In this article, some approaches are proposed for the definition of the concept of environmental communication, as a contribution to the theoretical body of this field, which guides the transforming capacity of communication to promote the emergence of new values and social attitudes towards the environment, in order to to recover the role of culture as an adaptation strategy to the environmental problems of the time. Weaknesses were identified in the work of environmental education, such as the insufficient use of tools and communication media and not considering the people with the greatest negative impact on the environment as the main target audience. It is concluded in the investigation that the educational messages are insufficient and not effective; Likewise, a communicative model focused on effects prevails, which does not weigh dialogue and exchange. However, many vital areas for biodiversity are still not protected, there are species and habitats of great importance that are poorly represented, and management that enhances the effectiveness of protected areas is necessary. |
