Affected horses usually present intermittent claudication that increases with exercise and swelling of the carpal sheath. On radiography, these lesions appear as a bony protrusion, with an external cortex and a medullary, whose size and degree of ossification is variable. Ultrasound is very effective in diagnosing and measuring these tumors that appear as hyperechoic lines with acoustic shadowing. |
