Samenvatting:This case study focuses on chronic renal failure and its repercussion in the emotional area of a 35-year-old patient from the Babahoyo hemodialysis unit, because renal failure is an affectation of the kidney, it progressively deteriorates, preventing it from fulfilling various functions. within the body, which has also had an emotional impact, giving rise to anxious states about thoughts of death. The work consists of a qualitative methodology, using psychological techniques to collect data, such as clinical observation, semi-structured interview, clinical history and psychometric batteries, highlighting among them the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Hamilton Scale for Anxiety, showing that the patient presenting a presumptive diagnosis according to DSM-V and ICD-10 Generalized Anxiety Disorder and based on 300.02 (F41.1). In addition, a psychotherapeutic treatment focused on Aaron Beck's Cognitive Model is implemented, applying various techniques, such as Passive relaxation, Psychoeducation, Generating an alternative explanation, Differentiating events, thoughts and feelings, 4-stroke breathing and Activity planning. to improve the patient's condition.
