Summary:This clinical case study is about a 32-year-old female patient who goes to medical consultation for her routine prenatal checkup having 24 weeks’ gestation, examination of the tests the doctor notices that she has hyperglycemia, before this the doctor suspects gestational diabetes and sends tests to confirm this suspected, such tests are: screening with 50g of oral glucose and then the glucose tolerance test, which are altered and gestational diabetes is diagnosed. In response, multidisciplinary management is requested from the patient. The objective of this clinical case is to evaluate the nutritional status of the patient and provide a therapeutic dietary plan to avoid further and specific complications. This assessment determines that pregnancy is overweight, and according to its altered biochemical values a nutritional plan is determined that results in normalizing glycaemia values and maintaining a weight gain appropriate for gestational age. Finally, it is concluded that the overall objective of this case was achieved, also adding that the patient's weight gain was evaluated until week 27 and is suitable for gestational age.
