| Summary: | Trissolcus bassalis is a micro wasp with the ability to parasitize pests of economic importance, used for the conservation of natural resources and biodiversity, its use helps reduce the population of harmful insects, causing their immediate death after the female deposits her eggs inside the eggs of their hosts, this has benefited nature since it has reduced the use of pesticides that are highly toxic to humans. The objective of this work is to know the biology and main hosts of the parasitoid micro wasp T. basalis. This research work provides relevant information obtained from websites and books, detailing the importance of natural biological control carried out by the parasitoid micro wasp T. bassalis. The micro wasp T. bassalis has been shown to have a rapid development within its host, this has enhanced its capacity as a biological agent. The speed of T. bassalis in locating the eggs of its hosts and preventing them from reaching their damage stage has driven its use and inclusion in new IPM programs. T. bassalis has a long list of hosts belonging to the orders Hemiptera and Lepidoptera, insects that are highly damaging to soybean, corn and rice crops, records show that this micro wasp prefers the eggs of the green bug Nezara viridula T. bassalis has been found to be an interesting parasitoid thanks to its biological characteristics and its great ability to parasitize the eggs of its hosts, helping to preserve the health of many economically important crops. |
