Summary:Quality of work life aims to focus on the well-being of the employee, focused on the ways they perceive their work environment. According to some authors, the work environment can directly influence the work performance of employees, as well as that there is a good relationship with their superior, their colleagues and a comfortable and pleasant work environment to perform efficiently and effectively in the development of their activities. The general objective of this study is based on determining in a documentary way the approaches, elements and expectations of the quality of life of the employees of the administrative area at the Technical University of Babahoyo in order to guide the management of the quality of work life in the institution of higher education. In this sense, the proposed methodology was based on a non-experimental design with a type of applied research because it allows the use of existing knowledge, mixed due to the combination of techniques that can be used and causal explanatory because the causes and effects that occur in the investigation. The main instrument used in the research for data collection was the survey directed at the administrative staff of the Technical University of Babahoyo.
