Gaia:An analytical study was carried out, an observational and participatory analytical study to determine the most frequent ametropias in children from 7 to 12 years of age and their relationship with visual ergonomics in the Caracol Educational Unit. Which aims to apply a plan of action with appropriate purposes on visual ergonomics in order to reduce ametropia in children from 7 to 12 years of age. The information was processed through a database on the Microsoft Excel 2013 platform. The following results were obtained: the lack of adequate real estate and brightness in the classroom negatively affected the classroom, finding the most frequent ametropia with 44% is hypermetry because it is a common problem in children, because in the age of 7 to 12 years, the eye is not yet fully developed which makes them have low school performance, the ametropia that was studied myopia was found 16%, followed by astigmatism with 41%, being of greater incidence in the female sex, while 34% of children are emmetropic by not presenting difficulty in their vision, concluding that hyperopia is the most frequent ametropia often in school children Therefore, it is recommended that the Ministry of Education implement a visual health program for new students and education for teachers in the early detection of visual symptoms.
