Sumari:The present study was developed based on the effect of mulch as a vegetation cover in the prevention of erosion in the soils of Ecuador, in which the objective was established; to establish the effect of mulch as a vegetation cover practice in the prevention of soil erosion. In reference to the methodology, the development of this study was based on a practical component in which the necessary information was obtained from magazines, articles, books and other relevant bibliographic sources. The qualitative design facilitated the collection and detailed analysis of bibliographic information, providing a comprehensive view of the effectiveness of mulch as a soil erosion preventative under the specific conditions. Based on the results, in the field of soils in Ecuador, the introduction of mulch is presented as an effective tactic to decrease erosion and maintain the vitality of land dedicated to agriculture. In conclusion, the study has conclusively established that mulch, as a mulching practice, plays a significant role in the prevention of soil erosion in Ecuador.
