Resumo:This clinical case is based on acute respiratory failure in neonates. It is determined as the inability of the respiratory system to balance an adequate gaseous exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide, which is why it is deficient to meet the metabolic needs of the organism. This morbidity is one of the main emergency entrance doors in hospital care transferred to the neonatal intensive care area. Through the application of the respiratory therapy care process with assessments of APGAR scale, silverman's test, and also all its methods, processes and therapeutic treatment such as non-invasive mechanical ventilation to improve its symptomatic and signs symptoms when there is acute respiratory failure type 1. This case was investigated with the purpose of explaining the respiratory therapy care process with the necessary care to obtain a favorable evolution and effectiveness in the 35-week-old gestation in the intensive care area service of the IESS Babahoyo General Hospital with respiratory failure Type 1 acute.
