description This research was carried out with the objective of comparing the obstetric and perinatal results between eutocic birth and cesarean section in women treated at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Hospital. September 2023 – August 2024. The methodology was based on a quantitative, applied, exploratory, cross-sectional and retrospective approach. The sample was made up of 211 women, 118 corresponding to lithotomic birth and 98 to segmental cesarean section treated at the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús hospital. September 2023 – August 2024. Data collection was carried out through a documentary review using as a source the medical records of women with a normal birth and cesarean section. To record the information, a previously designed checklist was used to record each one of the variables established to achieve the stated objectives. The results showed that the majority of women did not experience serious complications, with uterine bleeding and tears being the most frequent, with a higher incidence in lithotomy deliveries. Regarding neonatal outcomes, no significant differences were found but Apgar scores were higher in those born by cesarean section, suggesting a lower incidence of respiratory and cardiac complications. In addition, recovery time and hospital stay were longer in women with cesarean section. Based on these findings, it is recommended to implement continuous monitoring and training of personnel in the face of obstetric complications and for women in order to prepare them for complications that may arise.

Septiembre 2023 – agosto 2024.
