Résumé:VII. SUMMARY The present research work was carried out in the grounds of the Experimental Farm "San Pablo", of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo, located at km 7.5 of the Babahoyo - Montalvo highway. The lot is between the geographic coordinates of 790 32' of longitude west and 01049'of south latitude and 8 msnm of height. Jalapeno peppers were used as seeds for the planting material. The treatments were constituted by the relationship of seven types of substrates, such as Humus de lombriz (100%); Earthworm Humus + Sand (20 + 80%); Earthworm Humus + Sand + Legume Leaf Residues (30 + 20 + 50%); Bocashi (100%); Bocashi + Arena (20 + 80%); Bocashi + Sand + Residues of Legume Leaves (30 + 20 + 50%) and Pure Soil (Witness). The experimental design used was of Blocks Completely Random, with seven treatments and three repetitions. The comparisons of treatment averages were made with the Tukey test at 95% probability. Within each plot, 20 polyethylene covers were located, with the purpose of estimating the corresponding average parameters. During the development of the trial, the preparation work of the seedbed, preparation of the experimental area, transplantation, fertilization, irrigation, weed control and phytosanitary and harvest were carried out. The evaluated data were plant height, number of fruits, length and diameter of the fruit, yield and economic analysis. The results obtained showed a variation in the agronomic behavior of the jalapeño pepper culture, according to the different types of substrates used; the highest plant height was registered with the use of pure soil (Control); the use of Bocashi + Sand + Residues of Legume Leaves, with a ratio of 30 + 20 + 50%, reached a greater number of fruits; the length and diameter of the fruit reached higher averages with the use of pure soil (Control); the highest yield of the crop was shown by the treatment that was applied Bocashi at 100% and the net profit obtained greater result with the use of pure soil (Control) with $ 699.9.
